Summer Days

Gosh, summer seemed to whizz by this year.  Maybe it was all the rain we had that made it seem incredibly short, or maybe it is age, with every year seeming shorter sort of thing.  I don't know what the reason is but at least we still managed to get out and about and did lots of exploring and camping, enjoying as much of it as we can, despite the weather.  There is still beauty to be found.

At the end of last year a photographer friend of mine suggested we share with each other what summer means to us. So over the next week or so I thought I would post some of our holiday snaps enjoying the beautiful beaches in the North of New Zealand.

Anyway, to start, this is us enjoying a very simple, late evening meal after a day pottering around at home. You can't really see it at this size but Marino had drawn a thin line mustache, with a biro, on his cheeky little face.

It is all very typical of us. See Marino standing?  He finds it very difficult to sit down long enough to see a whole meal through. And our female cat?  She always sits at the table for the evening meal and even participates in the conversation with her cute little meows.
